Yashpal Suvarna, Udupi MLA, inaugurated the new ‘snana ghatta’ (bathing ghat) of Moodu Perampalli Sheembra Siddhi Vinayak temple, near Manipal, on Tuesday.The bathing ghat has been constructed on the bank of Swarna river by investing ₹2.25 crore.The MLA said that the old bathing ghat of the temple had been damaged owing to severe river erosion. Hence devotees were finding it difficult to take a dip in the river especially on Krishnangaraka Chaturdashi day every year. The Minor Irrigation Department sanctioned fund to construct the new bathing ghat as per the request of the managing committee of the temple.The MLA said he will extend all cooperation for developing other infrastructure facilities at the temple in the coming days.
