NCWS Tasks Women to Vote Wisely, Seeks More Political Positions

The National Council of Women’s Societies (NCWS) has urged women in Nigeria to mobilise and vote wisely in the 2027 general election in accordance with their conscience.
The President of NCWS, South-West Forum, Mrs. Priscilla Kuye, who made the call in her welcome address at the council’s annual conference held in Ibadan, Oyo State, said women should actively participate in the electoral process and support candidates committed to good governance, the rule of law and promotion of fundamental human rights.
According to her, the council was concerned about insecurity, kidnapping, unemployment, hunger and inadequate access to water and electricity in the country.
