MANILA, Philippines— Another Piatos, and other unusual or familiar names similar to those of former and incumbent senators, such as Revilla, Hontiveros, and Lapid emerged as recipients of Vice President Sara Duterte’s confidential funds (CFs) based on the documents her office submitted to the Commission on Audit (COA).
At the continuation of Duterte’s impeachment trial on Tuesday, private prosecutor Lorna Kapunan flashed in the screen some of the 1, 049 acknowledgement receipts (ARs), which she asked prosecution witness—COA Intelligence and Confidential Funds Audit Office (ICFAO) auditor Xylene del Campo— to read and confirm.
The documents were submitted by the Office of the Vice President (OVP) to the COA in relation to its confidential expenses for the first and second quarters of 2023.
