2026 Jongno Hanbok Festival (Seoul Metropolitan Government) Jongno-gu is recruiting participants for a hanbok showcase featuring children, adults, foreign residents and pets as part of the 2026 Jongno Hanbok Festival, which will take place Sept. 11-12 at Gwanghwamun Square in central Seoul.The program will invite residents and visitors to take the stage wearing traditional Korean attire. This year, the district has also added a pet category.Applications are open in two categories: a general division and a pet division. The general division is open to Korean and foreign residents of Korea interested in hanbok, while the pet division is for those who wish to enter with a companion animal dressed in hanbok.Applicants must submit the required documents, including an application form and photographs of themselves or their pets wearing hanbok, by 1 p.m. Aug. 20 via the contest's designated email address, hanbok@jfac.or.kr. Application forms are available on the Jongno-gu Office website.The competition will consist of a document screening followed by an in-person judging session. Successful applicants in the general division must attend the final round on the festival's main stage Sept. 12.Under Gwanghwamun Square's operating regulations, pets will not appear onstage during the final judging.
