Aug. 10 (Asia Today) -- HD Hyundai Heavy Industries has secured a 956 billion won ($674 million) contract to supply power generation equipment for U.S. data centers operated by a major technology company as surging artificial intelligence demand drives investment in electricity infrastructure.
The South Korean company said Monday it signed an agreement with U.S. energy infrastructure developer Corban Energy Group to supply generating systems based on its 9.6-megawatt HiMSEN engines.
The contract covers a combined 1,000 megawatts of generating capacity and is the largest power-generation engine supply agreement HD Hyundai Heavy Industries has signed.
The equipment will serve as a major source of electricity for data centers operated by a Big Tech company in the United States.
