MANILA, Philippines — As continuous rains impact Metro Manila and nearby provinces, Manila Water continues to strengthen the reliability of its water distribution system by keeping non-revenue water (NRW) below 15 percent and sustaining rapid response to leaks and pipe failures across its network.

During the first half of 2026, Manila Water repaired 221 disruptive mainline pipe failures within 24 hours, including 27 incidents recorded in June, helping ensure reliable water service and minimize water losses.

As of June 2026, Manila Water’s NRW was recorded at 13.51 percent, while its year-to-date NRW stood at 14.22 percent. The company’s performance remains among the best in Asia and comparable to the standards achieved by water utilities in many developed countries.

NRW refers to treated water that does not reach customers due to leaks, pipe breakages, illegal connections, meter inaccuracies, and other system losses. Unlike water successfully delivered to customers, NRW generates no revenue for the company and is not billed to customers.
