The conditions at the facility are under scrutiny.
A Lavender Hill family is desperate for answers after their disabled son died under mysterious circumstances while staying at an apparent unregistered rehabilitation facility.
Nicolin van Rooyen, 32, died on July 4, 2026, at Mitchells Plain Day Hospital, after spending more than a year at BGB Health and Rose Parenting in Woodlands, Mitchells Plain.
His devastated mother, Shirley van Rooyen, said the family was called to the hospital on June 16, only to find their son surrounded by medical machines and tubes.
“Gerome Fisher of BGB just told us Nicol was in hospital, no explanations were given,” she said.
