Asghar Jahangir, spokesperson for the Judiciary of the Islamic Republic, has requested that Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi hand over all information and documents regarding an alleged “security breach” during the attack on the compound of former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei to intelligence, security, and judicial authorities.
Speaking to Didban Iran on Monday, August 10, Jahangir responded to Araghchi’s recent statements, noting: “First, he must be asked how he knows this. If he possesses information in this regard, it is necessary to provide it to intelligence, security, and judicial bodies.”
The judiciary spokesperson added that any individual, whether a public official or a citizen, who holds relevant information is obligated to share it with judicial authorities.
When asked whether the prosecutor’s office would intervene as a public claimant, Jahangir stated: “If the statements made warrant judicial follow-up, the prosecution will take the necessary action in accordance with its legal duties.”
Araghchi had previously stated during an online broadcast regarding the attack on Ali Khamenei’s compound that an “active security breach” was present and had directly impacted decision-making processes.
