YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) Anantapur district president Anantha Venkatarami Reddy has reiterated his demand for a CBI inquiry into the DSC recruitment process alleging that rules regarding the sports quota were violated at every stage.
The YSRCP cadres, led by Mr. Venkatarami Reddy, took out a rally from Power Office to Mahatma Gandhi statue at Pathuru in Anantapur on Monday as part of the party’s protest against irregularities in DSC-2025. They raised slogans demanding the resignation of HRD Minister Nara Lokesh.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Venkatarami Reddy alleged that the DSC recruitment process had been riddled with corruption. In addition to the question paper leak, Government Orders (GOs) concerning the sports quota had been altered, he claimed, and questioned why the sports quota had been changed from 2% to 3%.
Responding to the ruling alliance leaders readiness to discuss the DSC issue in the Assembly, the senior leader questioned whether the government had the courage to discuss it in the Legislative Council as well. Mr. Venkatarami Reddy also demanded the settlement of ₹9,500 crore fee reimbursement arrears and the payment of unemployment allowances to the jobless.
He said that the YSRCP had already submitted representations to District Collectors and relay hunger strikes were held at the constituency level over the demands. Mr. Venkatarami Reddy alleged that while rallies were being organised across the State, obstacles were created at every step to prevent protests in Vijayawada, Pulivendula, Guntur, Kadapa, and Tadipatri.
