The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) on Tuesday (August 4, 2026) alleged irregularities in the conduct of Andhra Pradesh DSC-2025 sports-quota recruitments and produced documentary evidence.Addressing a media conference, YSRCP Tirupati assembly constituency in-charge B. Abhinay Reddy flagged G.O.Ms.No.04 and G.O.Ms.No.47 issued days before the DSC-2025 notification that introduced 3 per cent horizontal reservation for meritorious sportspersons by permitting recruitment without a written or competitive examination.“While selection was based on the priority assigned to their sports achievements, several candidates appointed to teaching positions neither had knowledge on their domain, nor had the teaching ability and classroom aptitude, assessed through the DSC,” Mr. Abhinay Reddy said, suspecting a plot to secure entry for ineligible candidates in the garb of genuine sportspersons.Referring to the sports quota list published by the Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP), the leader stated that 12 per cent had gone into sports or physical education roles, while the remaining 88 per cent, i.e., 337 out of 382, had been appointed to classroom teaching posts like mathematics, science, social studies, and languages. He also produced four certificates for a senior inter-district judo championship in Khammam in 2013, claiming that such an event had never taken place. Similarly, he raised eyebrows at two candidates on the merit list who had submitted certificates claiming to have received silver medals (second place) in the same championship, year, venue, and age group. The party demanded that the government release the official notifications, participant list, draw sheets and results of the sporting events, along with photographs, to gain credibility.
