The HRANA news agency reports that Manoochehr Bakhtiari, father of Pouya Bakhtiari, who was killed during the November 2019 protests, remains in legal limbo in Bandar Abbas Prison 203 days after his arrest.

Bakhtiari, who was serving a sentence of internal exile in Bandar Abbas, was arrested in late January 2026 and transferred to the city’s prison.

According to information published by HRANA, court hearings in Bakhtiari’s case were held on June 2 and June 14, 2026, at Branch 1 of the Revolutionary Court of Bandar Abbas.

During these sessions, he presented his defense against charges of “propaganda against the system of the Islamic Republic” and “inciting or provoking people to war and bloodshed with the intention of disrupting national security.”

Despite these hearings, no verdict has been issued in Bakhtiari’s case, leaving him in ongoing detention without a final ruling.
