Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development, Mmamoloko Kubayi appeared before the TRC Cases Inquiry probing alleged political interference with TRC related matters, in her capacity as minister on Friday.
Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development, Mmamoloko Kubayi, has provided a reassuring update regarding the ongoing reparations for victims of apartheid. Addressing the TRC Cases Commission chaired by Justice Sisi Khampepe on Friday, Kubayi highlighted the pivotal work of the President's Fund, which aims to deliver crucial support and assistance to those who have suffered during this dark chapter of South Africa's history.
Kubayi appeared before the TRC Cases Inquiry probing alleged political interference in the investigation of TRC cases in her official capacity as the minister on Friday.
"Reparations are underway for the victims of apartheid in terms of once-off reparations, medical benefits, basic education and higher education training, housing assistance, and other forms of social assistance," she asserted. This multi-faceted approach, she emphasised, continues to address the dire needs of individuals and families affected by past atrocities, particularly those displaced and traumatised during the violent struggles against the apartheid regime.
