International credit rating agency Scope Ratings has affirmed Lithuania’s long-term credit rating at A+ with a stable outlook, the Finance Ministry said Saturday.
Scope upgraded Lithuania’s rating from A to A+ in September 2025, following a period of stability since 2021. The agency said Lithuania’s key strengths include a resilient and increasingly diversified economy, sound public finances and a strong institutional framework.
Eurozone membership provides a solid foundation for Lithuania’s fiscal and economic policy, while membership in the European Union and NATO helps mitigate external security risks, Scope said.
The agency also noted that Lithuania is converging toward eurozone income levels as a result of rapid economic growth and greater macroeconomic resilience.
Consistent and responsible fiscal policies have kept Lithuania’s general government debt among the lowest in the eurozone, at 39.5% of gross domestic product at the end of 2025, Scope said.
