MANILA, Philippines — The Senate has postponed the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte and shifted to a work-from-home arrangement on Monday amid continued heavy rains brought by the southwest monsoon.

“The Senate will be under WFH setup today. No trial and session today as well,” Senate President Sherwin Gatchalian told reporters.

In an advisory, Senate Secretary Renato Bantug Jr. said the impeachment trial and plenary session were cancelled on Monday and “shall resume tomorrow, Tuesday, 11 August 2026.”

The advisory said Gatchalian is likewise allowing all Senate officials and employees to work from home on Monday.
