A total of 213 combat engagements between Ukrainian forces and Russian invaders were recorded along the front line on August 9, with the enemy most actively attempting to attack on the Lyman and Kostiantynivka axes.
The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported this in an update on the situation as of 22:00 on Sunday, according to Ukrinform.
"Since the beginning of the day, there have been 213 combat engagements in total. The aggressor launched one missile strike using nine missiles, carried out 66 airstrikes using 211 guided aerial bombs, deployed 6,347 kamikaze drones for attacks, and shelled our troops' positions and populated areas 2,114 times," the statement said.
On the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk axes, two combat engagements were recorded from the beginning of the day, while the enemy shelled the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas 41 times.
On the Southern Slobozhanshchyna axis, Russian forces launched 12 attacks on Ukrainian positions near Starytsia, Vovchansk and Artilne and toward Izbytske, Volokhivka, Kupyne and Khatnie. Two engagements are still ongoing.
