Finnish authorities have opened two separate criminal investigations after a police car and a moped rider collided during a pursuit in Tuusula on Saturday, leaving the rider with minor injuries.
The National Prosecution Authority’s police crime unit has opened a preliminary investigation into the conduct of police officers during the attempt to stop the rider, Helsinki Police Department said on Sunday.
Helsinki police have started a separate investigation into the moped rider’s actions. The preliminary suspected offences are aggravated endangerment of traffic safety and operating a vehicle without the required driving entitlement.
