Kelwizzy had drawn attention in recent weeks for posting videos exposing the poor state of roads across Nsukka, Enugu State.
Content creator Ezema Kelechi, popularly known online as "Kelwizzy," was dragged from his home on August 5, beaten, and handed over to police, according to his family and residents whose accounts have spread widely on social media.
Kelwizzy had drawn attention in recent weeks for posting videos exposing the poor state of roads across Nsukka, Enugu State.
His brother said men who identified themselves as neighbourhood watch operatives reached out to Kelwizzy, telling him they wanted to film a paid birthday shout-out, a service he regularly advertises on his page.
He agreed and gave them his house address, the brother said. When the men showed up, they allegedly ordered him outside, beat him, and forced him into a vehicle, according to the Nigerian Observatory for Human Rights (NOHR).
