ABUJA — The Federal Government has thrown its weight behind the candidacy of Muhammad Bello Bala Shagari for leadership of the Non-Aligned Movement Youth Organization (NAMYO).
The endorsement was conveyed by the Federal Ministry of Youth Development, which described Shagari, the National Representative of NAMYO Nigeria and Vice Chair for the Africa Region, as a distinguished youth leader with an impressive record of service, youth development and international diplomacy.
The Ministry said Shagari’s experience, integrity and leadership capacity, as well as his contributions to youth participation, international cooperation and constructive engagement among young people, make him eminently qualified to serve the organisation in a higher capacity.
Shagari, a former President of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), is widely recognised as one of Nigeria’s most prominent youth leaders. He has played active roles in youth advocacy, international relations and youth diplomacy, both nationally and internationally.
NAMYO was established in 2022, following a recommendation by the Heads of State and Government of the Non-Aligned Movement, and is headquartered in Baku, Azerbaijan.
