MANILA, Philippines — The first alarm is still raised over the water level of the Marikina River on Sunday morning due to the continuous heavy rains brought by the southwest monsoon, or “habagat” over the western section of Luzon, including Metro Manila.
According to the Marikina City local government unit, as of 5:40 a.m., the river’s water level has reached 15.7 meters.
The LGU raised the first alarm nearly nine hours ago, when the river’s water level reached 15 meters.
