MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Justice (DOJ) will evaluate a request by the United States to extradite alleged sex offender and sect leader Apollo Quiboloy to determine how such proceedings overseas could affect his criminal cases in local courts.
The DOJ has received the voluminous documents containing the extradition request transmitted by the US Department of State through the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), Justice Secretary Fredderick Vida confirmed on Friday.
He said the request would now be up for review in accordance with the existing treaty the Philippines has with the United States.
