MANILA, Philippines – Following the request from the United States to extradite Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KJC) founder Apollo Quiboloy, Department of Justice (DOJ) Spokesperson Atty. Polo Martinez explained the multi-step process governing extradition requests between Manila and Washington under existing treaties and Philippine statutes.
In a statement, he said any formal request must undergo a thorough evaluation across executive agencies and the judiciary before any surrender can take place.
“The DFA is the first point of contact. Under Philippine law, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) determines whether the extradition request complies with the RP–US Extradition Treaty and applicable Philippine laws,” he said
