Passenger associations affiliated with the Tamil Nadu Rail Users Federation have submitted a series of demands to the Salem Railway Division, seeking train extensions, additional stoppages and restoration of withdrawn stoppages.The Tirupattur Railway Junction Passengers Association has sought daily operation of Train Nos. 16087/16088 Arakkonam–Salem MEMU, extension of Train Nos. 16085/16086 Arakkonam–Jolarpettai MEMU up to Salem, and an additional stoppage at Tirupattur for Train Nos. 20601/20602 Bodinayakanur–MGR Chennai Central Express.The Bommidi Public and Railway Passengers Welfare Association has sought daily operation of Train Nos. 16087/16088, extension of Train Nos. 16085/16086 up to Salem, and stoppages at Bommidi for Train Nos. 12675/12676 Coimbatore–MGR Chennai Central Express and 16315/16316 Thiruvananthapuram Central–Mysuru Express.The Podanur Train Users Association has sought extension of Train Nos. 12083/12084 Coimbatore–Mayiladuthurai Jan Shatabdi Express up to Chidambaram and Train Nos. 16721/16722 Coimbatore–Madurai Intercity Express up to Bodinayakanur. It has also sought stoppages for Train Nos. 06027/06028 Podanur–MGR Chennai Central Special at Bommidi, Tirupattur, Gudiyattam and Ambattur.The Train Passengers Association, Morappur, has sought restoration of the stoppage of Train No. 12685 at Morappur, besides extending Train Nos. 16085/16086 up to Salem and operating Train Nos. 16087/16088 on all seven days.The Danishpet Rail Passengers Association has sought extension of Train Nos. 16085/16086 up to Salem and restoration of the stoppage of Train Nos. 16087/16088 at Danishpet, which was available before the COVID-19 pandemic.
