Podanur Train Users’ Association has called upon the Salem Railway Division to utilise idle rakes in Mannaragudi, Madurai and Coimbatore to provide services to Velankanni from Madurai, Coimbatore and Bodinayakanur.
While the Mannargudi Express (16615/16616) rakes are kept idle for over nine hours in Coimbatore and 12 hours in Mannargudi, the Punalur-Madurai Express rakes are kept idle for over 15 hours in Madurai.
