SAN ILDEFONSO, Ilocos Sur — The Quimmarayan River in Santo Domingo town was close to overflowing Saturday afternoon due to debris under the Nambaran Bridge.
As of 3 p.m., the river’s water level had risen close to overflowing, according to the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO).
A declogging team from the General Services Office and Municipal Engineering Office was dispatched to clear the debris, improve water flow and prevent the river from overflowing.
Meanwhile, water was also accumulating across the eastern fields of the flood-prone San Pablo area.
