Nursing students take out awareness rally in Dindigul on Saturday.

Doctors, nurses and healthcare workers on Saturday took out a rally in Dindigul on account of ‘Abhaya Day’, which is observed on August 9, to spread awareness of the importance of safety and protection of healthcare workers. They condemned the violence against healthcare workers.‘Abhaya Day’ was instituted in memory of the doctor who was murdered at R.G. Kar Medical College Hospital in Kolkata in 2024. The participants held placards with slogans highlighting the need for protection and took a pledge at the event.Referring to recent incidents where healthcare workers were attacked, the participants said that such incidents should be prevented and the government should take immediate and stringent action against those who were involved in such attacks.
