Tamil Nadu Government Nurses Association staged a protest in front of Dindigul Government Medical College Hospital on Thursday urging the State government to fulfil their demands.The nurses demanded the withdrawal of G.O. 204 regarding downsizing staff strength and staff redeployment. They demanded the abolition of the consolidated pay system. Their services should be regularised and a G.O. should be issued to redesignate their role as ‘Nursing Officer’, they said.The nurses said they were performing their duties wearing black badges, ensuring that neither patient care nor hospital operations were disrupted.
