Medical and nursing staff of Srirangam Government Hospital staged a demonstration on Monday to protest against lack of action taken after an injured man and his companion allegedly entered the women doctors’ dressing room on Friday night while seeking treatment.According to hospital sources, the injured man and his companion clashed with the security staff and began taking videos of the premises despite objections by the duty doctor. “Services were halted for 15 minutes and nurses and doctors were on the road until the police arrived and arrested the two men. It is sad to see that GH staff are being harassed by the public for the past three months and no steps to prevent such incidents have been taken,” a senior official told The Hindu.Approximately 25 doctors, nurses and other paramedical staff participated in the protest on Monday afternoon.
