Fijian rugby player Saimoni Vunilagi has died of suspected heatstroke after a training session in Japan. He was 26.

Fijian rugby player Saimoni Vunilagi, 26, dies after suffering from suspected heat stroke following a training session in Japan.

Saimoni Vunilagi was hospitalised with symptoms of heatstroke after rugby team training on Monday, but died on Friday.

Saimoni Vunilagi, who plays for Kyushu KV in the second division, was taken to hospital after team practice.
