The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) reported 192 combat engagements as of 10 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 7, with Russian forces launching missile and drone strikes across the frontline regions.According to the General Staff’s evening update, Russian forces carried out one missile strike using two missiles, conducted 53 airstrikes and dropped 176 guided aerial bombs (KABs).JOIN US ON TELEGRAMFollow our coverage of the war on the @Kyivpost_official.The military also reported that Russian forces deployed 6,540 kamikaze drones and carried out 2,359 strikes on populated areas and Ukrainian military positions throughout the day.Northern and eastern axesIn the North Sloboda and Kursk axes, the AFU repelled six Russian attacks, while occupying troops carried out 42 strikes on Ukrainian positions and settlements – two of which involved multiple rocket launch systems, according to the report.On the South Sloboda axis, Russian forces “stormed” Ukrainian positions six times near Hoptivka, Zapadne, Petropavlivka and Lyman.On the Kupiansk axis, the AFU fended off two assaults near Novoplatonivka, with one engagement still ongoing at the time of the report.Two attempted Russian advances were recorded on the Lyman axis near Novoselivka and Lyman, with one clash underway.The AFU stopped 12 attempts on the Sloviansk axis, where Russian forces tried to advance near Zakitne, Kryva Luka, Psykunivka, Kalenyky and Riznykivka, with two additional engagements ongoing at the time of the report.
