A Melbourne-based dance academy is bringing more than 100 performers to Samoa on August 28 on a community-focused tour aimed at giving back through cultural performances, workshops and charitable donations.
The LetTeine Polynesian academy, led by founder Lette Lesleyann Saolotoga, will arrive with a group of 102 travelers from Melbourne on to carry out a program of community engagement across the country, the group will also be performing at the Measina Festival in September.
Lette said she has operated the dance academy for the past three years, creating program that support and uplift Pacific communities. Following a successful tour to Hawaii last year with a selected group of students, the academy has chosen Samoa as its destination for this year's outreach.
"I have always created programs that support and uplift our Pacific communities, and this tour continues that mission," she said.
As part of the visit, the group will meet with several organizations and community groups. Lette will also personally visit the Samoa Cancer Society and the Kidney Foundation to present monetary donations as well as Fasitootai and Faleseela primary school.
