It’s not immediately known how the procedure will affect 2027.Krall said the exact nature of the procedure would be determined when he goes in.“They’re going to go in there, find out what it is and go from there,” he said. “The ligament was failing. It’s going to be some sort of procedure around the ligament.”This will be Greene’s second ligament surgery. He also had Tommy John surgery on his right elbow while in the minors in 2018.Greene went on the 15-day injured list Wednesday, just five starts into his return from arthroscopic elbow surgery in March that involved removing bone chips. Krall said the Reds aren’t sure if the bone chip procedure impacted the ligament, which was in good condition in the spring. Krall said Greene was sore on and off for a few weeks but didn’t bring it to anyone’s attention until recently.
