The France international has entered the final two years of his current contract with PSG, who have softened their stance on a deal.‌The reigning Champions League champions had initially been firm in their stance that the 23-year-old was not for sale at any price. But, having lined up potential replacements, a deal can now be done - if their asking price is met.‌Liverpool have found it slow going in the transfer window this summer, with a £35million deal for Osasuna winger Victor Munoz the only significant piece of business done, as the £55m arrival of Jeremy Jacquet was sealed in January.FOLLOW OUR LIVERPOOL FB PAGE! They will submit an official offer in the region of €115million (£98m) in the expectation that it will be rejected.‌PSG don't want to lose Barcola, who has contributed heavily to their success under Luis Enrique's management. Yet they are also unwilling to keep a player against his will, so have slapped a €150 million (£128.5m) price tag on their star player.Their resolve has likely be strengthened by the £120m fee RB Leipzig got from Real Madrid for Yan Diomande - a player four years younger and with far less experience than Barcola.Barcola has 39 goals in 152 appearances for the club since joining from Lyon three years ago. He has combined well with Ousmane Dembele and Desire Doue under Enrique's management, but is keen to join Liverpool.‌Barcola has already agreed personal terms with Liverpool and it seems likely that a deal can be done. Liverpool sporting director Richard Hughes is leading discussions, with Luis Campos representing PSG and agent Moussa Sissoko speaking on behalf of Barcola.L'Equipe says that Liverpool are not actively pursuing any alternative to Barcola, which is a measure of their determination to land the Frenchman. Iraola spoke publicly about the need for a winger, even after Munoz was signed.‌"There are obvious situations that we know where we need to sign players," he said last month. "A winger, for example – we definitely need to sign a winger."But there are other situations that we will have to analyse what the market gives you, what’s the cost, how we also see the players we have. We have some tricky positions where we have injured players that we trust but is still not the ideal situation. So, it will depend on a lot of things."Join our LFC WhatsApp community and get all the latest LFC news, views, transfer gossip and more, as it happens We also treat our community members to special offers, promotions, and adverts from us and our partners.
