Muhammed Suhail Sikkander Basha, a graduate of PSG Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (PSG IMSR), Coimbatore, has been awarded the Commonwealth Master’s Scholarship 2026 to pursue an MSc in Cardiovascular and Respiratory Healthcare at Imperial College London.Mr. Basha, who completed his Bachelor of Science in Physician Assistant at PSG IMSR, affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, will pursue the one-year programme from September 2026.The scholarship is funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and administered by the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission. It covers tuition fees, international travel, a monthly stipend and other approved academic expenses.Mr. Basha graduated with First Class Distinction and secured the first rank in his course. He was also recognised as the National Student of the Year by the Indian Association of Physician Assistants.A total of 39 candidates from India were nominated for the 2026 Commonwealth Master’s Scholarship by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, and 10 were selected by the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission following the final assessment.
