Twenty-three-year-old Tshiamo Medupe, an MSc Biostatistics student at Stellenbosch University, is taking part in the 2026 Summer Research Programme.
A Stellenbosch University master's student has earned international recognition after being selected as one of only 22 participants worldwide for a prestigious health technology research programme in Switzerland.
Twenty-three-year-old Tshiamo Medupe, an MSc Biostatistics student in the Division of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, is taking part in the 2026 Summer Research Programme at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, one of Europe's leading research universities.
Medupe said he was both surprised and honoured when he learned of his selection.
"I love being at the forefront of technology. Being chosen for this opportunity reflects the global impact, research excellence and international competitiveness of SU's postgraduate community," he said.
