Gram Sabhas will be held in all village panchayats across the district at 11 a.m. on August 15, coinciding with Independence Day, according to District Collector S. Kandasamy. The venue and other details of the meetings will be announced by the respective village panchayats.According to a press release, the Gram Sabhas will deliberate on the village panchayat administration and public expenditure for the period from April 1 to July 31, 2026. The meetings will also discuss the supply of safe drinking water, implementation of the rural employment scheme, restoration of minor irrigation tanks and lakes, the Jal Jeevan Mission, the Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen), and other development programmes.
