Wellness advocate Khutjo Motimele and Clinical psychologist Dr. Keitumetse “Tumi” Mashego encourage women to prioritise mental health, self-care and holistic wellness during Women’s Month.
Women don't have to wait for a crisis before seeking help. This Women's Day, mental health professionals are encouraging women to make therapy and emotional wellness part of their regular self-care routine.
As the country commemorates Women’s Day on Sunday, women are being encouraged to place greater focus on their overall wellness, including physical health, exercise, mindfulness, therapy, self-care and emotional well-being.
Speaking to IOL, clinical and sports psychologist Dr. Keitumetse “Tumi” Mashego said wellness provides women with an opportunity to have a grounded sounding board and an objective mirror focused on their best interests.
“It helps to have some grounded sounding board, a regular objective mirror who has your best interest at heart, to develop self-awareness which is an important skill in this lifetime.”
