The Oyo State Police Command said it has recovered a vehicle reported stolen on July 29, 2026, following a painstaking investigation and coordinated intelligence-led operation that resulted in the arrest of the principal suspect in Gombe State on August 3, 2026.

This was conveyed in a statement released by the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka, made available to newsmen in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

DSP Ayanlade said the breakthrough was achieved after operatives of the Command meticulously followed credible intelligence generated during the investigation, leading to the successful tracking of the stolen vehicle to Gombe State.

The Command’s PPRO stated that consequently, one Daniel Chinada Obidiukwu, male, aged 21, was apprehended in possession of the vehicle. He added that preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect allegedly stole the vehicle from Ibadan and drove it to Gombe State with the intention of selling it to an unsuspecting buyer.
