The Gombe State Police Command has recovered a Beretta pistol and a stolen Toyota Camry in separate operations carried out across the state within the last 48 hours.
The command’s spokesperson, Buhari Abdullahi, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday.
According to him, the first incident involved the recovery of a Beretta pistol with an empty magazine after a vigilant resident discovered the firearm concealed beneath a stone near Brave Rock Sport/Recreational Park in the New GRA area of Gombe.
“The firearm was promptly reported to the police, and detectives immediately responded to the scene, where the Beretta pistol with an empty magazine was recovered. Investigation is ongoing to determine the ownership of the weapon and the circumstances surrounding its concealment,” the PPRO said.
