In a further demonstration of its unwavering commitment to combating crime and ensuring that offenders are brought to justice, the Oyo State Police Command has successfully recovered a vehicle reported stolen on 29 July 2026, following a painstaking investigation and coordinated intelligence-led operation that culminated in the arrest of the principal suspect in Gombe State on 3rd August, 2026.
Ayanlade Oluseyi Olayinka, Deputy Superintendent of Police and Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Oyo State Police Command, in statement, said the breakthrough was achieved after operatives of the Command meticulously followed credible intelligence generated during the investigation, leading to the successful tracking of the stolen vehicle to Gombe State. Consequently, one Daniel Chinada Obidiukwu, male, aged 21, was apprehended in possession of the vehicle.
He said that preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect allegedly stole the vehicle from Ibadan and drove it to Gombe State with the intention of selling it to an unsuspecting buyer.
