OTTAWA — With about a month before the Liberal government’s break on the fuel excise tax is set to expire, Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre is demanding that Prime Minister Mark Carney cancel “his planned tax hike.”
Poilievre issued the call Thursday in St. John’s, where he also highlighted concerns about crime and the cost of living, the latter being the theme the Conservative leader has largely stuck to amid questions about his leadership and the party’s fortunes against the Carney Liberals.
