MANILA, Philippines — Vice President Sara Duterte on Thursday urged Palace press officer Claire Castro to be professional after the latter dismissed as “baseless” and “nonsense” Duterte’s claim that the International Criminal Court (ICC) is a lapdog of the Marcos administration.

Duterte, in an interview in Davao City after attending a Thanksgiving Mass for the Kadayawan Festival, was asked to react on Castro’s earlier remarks.

“Uulitin ko ha, si Claire Castro is a spokesperson of the President and the Office of the President. Hindi ko alam kung kaninong spokesperson siya pero by the fact na spokesperson ka at mayroong seal ng Office of the President diyan, dapat maging professional ka sa mga sinasabi mo,” Duterte said.

(“Let me repeat: Claire Castro is a spokesperson of the President and the Office of the President. I don’t know whose spokesperson she is, but the fact that you are a spokesperson and you have the seal of the Office of the President behind you, you should be professional in what you say.”)
