MANILA, Philippines — The House of Representatives under the leadership of Speaker Faustino “Bojie” G. Dy III approved on third and final reading on Wednesday House Bill (HB) No. 9697, which expands the land, financing, and partnership options available for socialized housing projects.
The House members voted 205 for the bill, with only three against it and zero abstentions.
According to House Majority Leader Ferdinand Alexander “Sandro” A. Marcos, the measure seeks to improve the delivery of socialized housing programs by amending Sections 10, 18, and 20 of the Urban Development and Housing Act of 1992 (Republic Act No. 7279) as amended by the Balanced Housing Development Program Amendments (Republic Act No. 10884).
