The Communist Party of India on Thursday commenced a week-long padayatra in Puducherry to highlight issues of public concern.The padayatra, which began at Saram, will cover several areas across Puducherry. The members of the party took out the padayatra to highlight the need to desilt stormwater drains before the onset of Northeast monsoon, put in place measures to provide pure drinking water, underground drainage and distribute free house site pattas for poor people.National secretary Annie Raja, party secretary A.
