A section of workers of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) staged demonstrations in Tiruchi and Pudukottai on Thursday condemning the searches conducted by the Enforcement Directorate at the residences of former Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan at Thiruvananthapuram and Kannur on Wednesday. The protesting CPI(M) workers condemned the BJP-led Narendra Modi government for having detained the party’s general secretary M.A. Baby and other CPI(M) leaders and activists after they took out a march in New Delhi on Wednesday condemning the ED action.In Tiruchi, a group of CPI(M) workers, led by the party’s urban district secretary Vetriselvan, staged a demonstration near the Teppakulam post office in the morning.
