A Durban man discovers a bullet lodged in his car door after travelling through a road in Cato Manor
A Durban man is still reeling from shock after finding a bullet lodged in his car's window frame after driving through Cato Manor on Wednesday.
The 46-year-old man was driving along Wiggins Road towards Bonela when the incident occurred. According to the Bonela Community Watch WhatsApp group, it is presumed the incident may have been an attempt to force him to stop, possibly intending to rob or hijack him. Fortunately, the driver was not injured and declined to speak further about the incident or be named.
Aidan David, the Chairperson of the eThekwini District Police Board and Treasurer of the KZN Provincial police board, said actions of this nature are very concerning. He said this incident could be the new modus operandi of criminals.
“One can see that criminals have become so desperate for survival that they have no respect for life anymore. I urge every community member to become more vigilant, especially at night in our respected areas. I hope that the South African Police Service apprehends these brazen criminals,” he said.
