A 33-year-old Germiston man has been convicted of murdering his father and attempting to murder his mother after prosecutors argued that greed and the prospect of inheriting family wealth motivated the January 2023 attack.
A 33-year-old Germiston man has been convicted of murdering his father and attempting to murder his mother after allegedly targeting them for financial gain in a shooting at their Leondale home in January 2023.
Manqu Ndimphiwe was convicted by the Gauteng Division of the High Court in connection with the attack, which took place on January 31, 2023, at the family's home in Leondale, Germiston.
The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) welcomed the conviction.
Gauteng NPA spokesperson Magaboke Mohlatlole said the accused's parents had returned home early that afternoon when the attack unfolded.
