International Relations and Cooperation Minister Ronald Lamola has denied allegations linking him to vote-buying at the ANC's 54th National Conference, calling on Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma to publicly withdraw the claims and apologise.
Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Ronald Lamola has demanded that ANC veteran Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma publicly retract allegations linking him to alleged vote-buying at the ANC's elective conference, denying any involvement and warning that he may pursue legal action if she fails to do so.
The allegations stem from Dlamini-Zuma’s appearance on the African Renaissance Podcast with former EFF MP Dr Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, where she claimed money had influenced leadership contests within the ANC.
In an open letter addressed to Dlamini-Zuma, Lamola said he had noted with concern and disappointment the remarks made during the podcast, saying the claims sought to associate his name with alleged vote-buying activities during the ANC’s 54th National Conference in 2017.
Lamola said he had long held Dlamini-Zuma in high esteem throughout his years of activism in the ANC but was compelled to respond to the allegations.
