Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar on Wednesday visited the Saraswathi Mahal library- cum-museum and the darbar hall in Thanjavur. The Governor saw the old manuscripts and rare books preserved at the library. He saw the mural paintings at the darbar hall and the antique objects kept in the museum within the palace premises.The Thanjavur Collector R. Revathi, Superintendent of Police E. Sundaravathanam and other officials accompanied the Governor during his visit, said official sources. The Governor arrived at Tiruchi by flight from Chennai in the afternoon and proceeded to Thanjavur by road. He travelled from Thanjavur by road to Tiruchi from where he left by flight to Chennai.
