The district police registered 34 cases for causing inconvenience to the public and booked 220 motorists for traffic violations during the death anniversary observance of freedom fighter Dheeran Chinnamalai at Odanilai, near Arachalur, on August 3.Ahead of the event, the police had issued an advisory urging visitors to adhere to traffic regulations, avoid rash and dangerous driving, and ensure that their movement did not inconvenience the public. However, according to the police, a section of motorists violated the norms by riding recklessly and at high speeds, causing inconvenience to other road users.Following enforcement drives, 34 cases were registered against the offenders, while 220 cases were booked under the Motor Vehicles Act for various traffic violations.
