Manchester United appears to be shopping in the value aisle. The club has added Fulham left-back Antonee Robinson to its summer transfer shortlist, viewing the 28-year-old American international as a significantly cheaper path to solving its defensive needs compared to the alternatives on the market.
Robinson’s estimated price tag sits around £28 million. That’s roughly half the £50 million valuation attached to Newcastle’s Lewis Hall, the other name United has been circling.
The numbers behind the interest
Robinson joined Fulham from Wigan back in August 2020 for a fee of £2 million. If Fulham secures anything close to the reported £28 million asking price, that’s a 14x return on their initial investment.
The USMNT regular has a contract with Fulham that runs through 2028/2029, which gives the west London club solid leverage in any negotiation.
